Pixar Animation Studios, commonly referred to as Pixar, is an American computer animation film studio based in Emeryville, California that is a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, owned by The Walt Disney Company. SUPERVILLAIN- FREE TOPIC

A supervillain is a variant of the villainous stock character that is commonly found in American comic books, usually possessing superhuman abilities. A supervillain is the antithesis of a superhero. A female supervillain is sometimes called a supervillainess, although the word supervillain is commonly used for females also.

Supervillains are often used as foils to present a daunting challenge to a superhero. In instances where the supervillain does not have superhuman, mystical, or alien powers, the supervillain may possess a genius intellect or a skill set that allows them to draft complex schemes or commit crimes in a way normal humans cannot. Other traits may include megalomania and possession of considerable resources to further their aims. Many supervillains share some typical characteristics of real world dictators, gangsters, and terrorists, with aspirations of world domination or universal leadership.

The Joker, Lex Luthor, Magneto, Doctor Doom, Darkseid, Venom, Ra's al Ghul, Thanos and the Green Goblin are some notable male comic book supervillains and have been adapted to film and television. Some notable examples of female supervillains are the Catwoman, Mystique, Harley Quinn, Talia al Ghul, Hela and Dark Phoenix. Just like superheroes, supervillains are sometimes members of supervillain groups, such as the Sinister Six, the Suicide Squad, the Brotherhood of Mutants, the Injustice League, the Legion of Doom, and the Masters of Evil.

Adjectives ( the drawing activity )

Honestly, I felt that this activity was kind of boring. Our teacher told us to bring colour pencils on that day and we were asked to draw a monster that we can think of. It was hard because I could not think of any interesting monsters. After that, The Frankenstein monster came into my mind so I drew it. Then, we had to describe the monster to our friends so that they can re-create the monsters we drew.

At the end, our teacher told us about the purpose of this activity. It was so that we can use descriptive words for our essays. Without good adjectives for our essay, our essay would be dull. With the help of adjectives, the reader can picture and imagine the situation of that essay.

Adjectives also helps in being accurate and precise. During an essay writing, adjectives helps us to describe someone accurately. For example, a man where as if adjectives was added in, a man wearing a collar T-shirt with black and white stripes with a blue ripped jeans and a white belt. There is a huge difference among these two sentences.

Free- Superheroes

A superhero (sometimes rendered super-hero or super hero or Super) is a type of heroic stock character, usually possessing supernatural or superhuman powers, who is dedicated to fighting the evil of their universe, protecting the public, and usually battling supervillains. A female superhero is sometimes called a superheroine (also rendered super-heroine or super heroine), although the word superhero is commonly used for females also. Superhero fiction is the genre of fiction that is centered on such characters, especially in American comic book and films since the 1930s.

By most definitions, characters do not require actual superhuman powers or phenomena to be deemed superheroes. While the Dictionary.com definition of "superhero" is "a figure, especially in a comic strip or cartoon, endowed with superhuman powers and usually portrayed as fighting evil or crime", the longstanding Merriam-Webster dictionary gives the definition as "a fictional hero having extraordinary or superhuman powers; also: an exceptionally skillful or successful person". Terms such as masked crime fighters, costumed adventurers or masked vigilantes are sometimes used to refer to characters such as the Spirit, who may not be explicitly referred to as superheroes but nevertheless share similar traits.

Some superheroes use their powers to counter daily crime while also combating threats against humanity from supervillains, who are their criminal counterparts. Often at least one of these supervillains will be the superhero's archenemy. Some long-running superheroes and superheroines such as Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hulk, Green Lantern, the Flash, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, Iron Man and the X-Men have a rogues gallery of many villains. There are movies and TV shows featuring various super heroes

What actually transpired during the holidays?

Nothing really happened during the holidays because everyone is so focused in doing their stuff where as I am only at home watching television. My friends are all at home doing their own stuff. I guess I can call myself lifeless. I am very lazy so I did not even bother touching my homework.

My holidays are usually boring and it feels like it is a normal school day but excluding school hours. Its always repeating over and over again. Watch TV, eat, sleep. This is what I do every single day. I hate studying so that is definitely not in my to-do-lists. 

The thing is that I do not even play games. I guess I only play mobile games but that is not the point. I am talking about computer games. I have always wanted to play computer games but procrastination gets the best of me and I would eventually forget about it. I will usually go on social media too like Instagram. I guess I just found out why my eyesight is really bad.

Wanna One is a South Korean boy band formed by CJ E&M through the 2017 survival competition Produce 101 Season 2. The group is composed of eleven members: Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young and Ha Sung-woon. The group debuted on August 7, 2017 and will be promoting until December 2018 under Swing Entertainment and CJ E&M.

Wanna One was formed through the survival competition series Produce 101 Season 2, which aired on Mnet from April 7 until June 16, 2017. Out of an initial 101 trainees representing various agencies, the final 11 were chosen by audience voting and announced via live television broadcast.

The group was recognized for their brand recognition and marketing power, having topped 'Boy Group Brand Power Ranking' published by the Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute for four months; as well as viewership ratings of the TV shows they appear on. In 2017, they ranked second in the 30 "Power People" survey by Ilgan Sports, for their influence among broadcasting companies and advertisers;and sixth in the top 10 artist of Gallup Korea survey. The group was also chosen as Best K-pop Artist of 2017.For their achievements, Wanna One ranked number two on Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list for 2018, a list ranking South Korea's most powerful and influential celebrities

My plans for the 2018 August holidays

To be honest, I do not really plan to do anything during the holidays.

All i plan to do is to sleep, eat and watch television. Probably also studying a little bit for my final exams. However, there are also tuitions during the holidays. I find it really ridiculous. 

I plan to also go out with my friends. Just chill and communicate with them. Probably going to 1 Utama would be the best choice as they have everything there.

SMK DJ CARNIVAL

This day was one of the most memorable day in my high school life. SMK DJ carnival was held not long ago. Probably around July or August. This is probably the only day where the students are allowed to wear their home clothes so it was pretty cool.

There were many fun activities that are held in the school. There was the dunking game where we are allowed to dunk anyone, even our principal! I saw our discipline teacher got dunk and it was extremely hilarious.

There was also the haunted house which was prepared by the librarians. It was a pretty cool haunted house where by we had to crawl in into a small tunnel in the beginning. The library was decorated with many props which I find it cool. However, it was not really scary as I thought it will be.

After that, there was the ICT TON Concert which was intense. There were many amazing performance. There were people who danced to kpop songs, singing, even someone riding on a tricycle which is awesome. It really was a memorable day for me.

Since I wrote about Marvel comics the last time, so now it will be DC Comics. DC Comics, Inc. is an American comic book publisher. It is the publishing unit of DC Entertainment, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. DC Comics is one of the largest and oldest American comic book companies, and produces material featuring numerous culturally iconic heroic characters including: Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

Most of their material takes place in the fictional DC Universe, which also features teams such as the Justice League, the Justice Society of America, the Suicide Squad, and the Teen Titans, and well-known villains such as The Joker, Lex Luthor, Catwoman, and Darkseid. The company has also published non-DC Universe-related material, including Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and many titles under their alternative imprint Vertigo.

The initials "DC" came from the company's popular series Detective Comics, which featured Batman's debut and subsequently became part of the company's name. Originally in Manhattan at 432 Fourth Avenue, the DC Comics offices have been located at 480 and later 575 Lexington Avenue; 909 Third Avenue; 75 Rockefeller Plaza; 666 Fifth Avenue; and 1325 Avenue of the Americas. DC had its headquarters at 1700 Broadway, Midtown Manhattan, New York City, but it was announced in October 2013 that DC Entertainment would relocate its headquarters from New York to Burbank, California in April 2015.

Minggu pusat sumber in my school

My school had minggu pusat sumber on July. We have this every year and it is pretty interesting because every year is a different theme and this year was Korea, my favorite theme.

During the opening ceremony of minggu pusat sumber, I danced to two kpop songs, one was called Naekkoya by Produce 48 and I performed with Sze Kay and the other was Fake love by BTS and I performed with Henry and Audrey. It was pretty cool as I hear everyone just cheering and screaming loudly. It is always the girls who screams because not many guys likes kpop. Am I right?

In the library, there were also many decorations and information about Korea and I really learned a lot about Korea. They have like information about their traditional food, clothes, songs and many more. It really was an eventful week and I had lots of fun.

Academic day in school

Everyone’s ‘favorite’ time academic day. Well definitely not for me. I stepped in my school with full of fear, heart beating as fast as lightning, hands trembling, head with full of sweat. My mom on the other hand is walking at the back of me with a huge frown on her face and the aura that she gave is like it is going to burst out in any seconds.

I went to my class and I see my class teacher sitting there. My mom had to sit outside to wait for her turn. I sat with my friend still being extremely nervous. When it was my turn, my mom and I went up to the teacher and as she saw my results, my day turned upside down. She asked my teacher on how I was in class and thank god that the teacher is an Islam teacher and my assistant teacher was not there. I guess my mom too early. So my teacher said she does not know because she is not teaching me.

As I went into my mom’s car, everything that I thought of happened. Screaming, shouting, nagging just came out. In my heart, I was telling myself to go faster go back to my house because it was just terrifying. However, thank goodness I am still alive.

Hari Raya Celebrations in school

My Hari Raya Celebration is pretty much the same every year. We wore our own traditional clothes and as I stepped in my school, everyone looked stunning in their own traditional clothes. I could see race that are not wearing their own traditional clothes but wearing other race’s traditional clothes which is pretty cool.

We gathered in our school hall and we sang the normal three songs that we usually sing and we heard the boring speeches from the principal, the head of PIBG. It was boring as usual. After all that was done, the fun part came, we had food!

The food was delicious. There were different food such as curry puffs, kuih-muihs and many more. We sat in the hall with our friends and ate while talking.

After taking our meal, we went to the futsal court to take pictures. Everyone was taking pictures with our friends. Everyone was just happy and excited. My friends and I took pictures with our favorite teachers who are teaching us in our class.

When the celebration was done, we went back to our class and we continued studying. I had an amazing time with my friends and I hope that these kind of gatherings will happen again in the future.

Marvel Comics is the brand name and primary imprint of Marvel Worldwide Inc., formerly Marvel Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Comics Group, a publisher of American comic books and related media. In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Worldwide's parent company.

Marvel started in 1939 as Timely Publications, and by the early 1950s, had generally become known as Atlas Comics. The Marvel branding began in 1961, the year that the company launched The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and many others.

Marvel counts among its characters such well-known superheroes as Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, the Hulk, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Deadpool, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and the Punisher, such teams as the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the Guardians of the Galaxy, and antagonists including Doctor Doom, Red Skull, Green Goblin, Thanos, Ultron, Doctor Octopus, Magneto, Venom and Loki. The Changes/Progress my country has experienced from 9.5.2018 until today

To be honest, not many changes has happened since 9.5.2018. I guess the only changes that happened was there is no more GST which means the price of most things have dropped. However, SST have been introduced and I feel like it has went back up again and I do not feel any difference between GST and SST.

Besides that, our education has always been the same. We are learning exactly what our seniors learned back then. I feel that our prime minister should really pay attention on our environment when we study. I was expecting to have like air conditioners in each of the classrooms right after the new government took over.

In conclusion, not much has happened. I do not have any idea on the reason why adults are so happy with this new government where as everything kind of stays the same. I guess the only thing is that this new government has no corruption but THAT IS THE ONLY THING.

Pyramid ( free topic )

A pyramid is a structure whose outer surfaces are triangular and converge to a single point at the top, making the shape roughly a pyramid in the geometric sense. The base of a pyramid can be trilateral, quadrilateral, or of any polygon shape. As such, a pyramid has at least three outer triangular surfaces (at least four faces including the base). The square pyramid, with a square base and four triangular outer surfaces, is a common version.

A pyramid's design, with the majority of the weight closer to the ground, and with the pyramidion on top, means that less material higher up on the pyramid will be pushing down from above. This distribution of weight allowed early civilizations to create stable monumental structures.

Civilizations in many parts of the world have built pyramids. The largest pyramid by volume is the Great Pyramid of Cholula, in the Mexican state of Puebla. For thousands of years, the largest structures on Earth were pyramids—first the Red Pyramid in the Dashur Necropolis and then the Great Pyramid of Khufu, both in Egypt - the latter is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still remaining.

Khufu's Pyramid, built mainly of limestone (with large red granite blocks used in some interior chambers), is considered an architectural masterpiece. It contains over 2,000,000 blocks ranging in weight from 2.5 tonnes (5,500 lb) to 15 tonnes (33,000 lb) and is built on a square base with sides measuring about 230 m (755 ft), covering 13 acres. Its four sides face the four cardinal points precisely and it has an angle of 52 degrees. The original height of the pyramid was 146.5 m (488 ft), but today it is only 137 m (455 ft) high as 9 m (33 ft) has gone missing due to theft of the fine quality white Tura limestone covering, or casing stones, for construction in Cairo. It remains the tallest pyramid

Ladies should not accept jobs that take them away from home excessively

I certainly agree with this statement above. Ladies have many responsibilities that they have to do not only during their work but also in their homes especially family members.

Ladies who accepts jobs that requires to take them away from will result in a family problem. This is because if ladies leave their families often, they are not able to bond together with their family members which causes arguments that are not even necessary.

Besides that, ladies who have children, babies in particular also needs to be at home so that they can take care of their of their children. For example, ladies who have children needs to always put on diapers for their children when they urine or poo on it. In my opinion, this requires a woman to do instead of a man.

In conclusion, it is a choice for the ladies whether or not to accept these kind of jobs. It is acceptable to take the job, but if it needs one to sacrifice a lot of their time that they spend at home with family and housework, it is not recommended to accept this kind of jobs

A momentous moment in the history of Malaysia

The momentous moment in the History of Malaysia that I am going to type about is when Malaysia achieved Independence. Hari Merdeka (Malaysian for 'Independence Day'), also known as Hari Kebangsaan (National day), refers to the day when the Federation of Malaya's independence from the British Empire was officially declared. At exactly 09:30 on 31 August 1957, the declaration was read by the first Chief Minister of Malaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman at the Merdeka Stadium in the presence of thousands of people including Malay Rulers, members of the federal government, and foreign dignitaries. To commemorate the event, Hari Merdeka was declared a national holiday in Malaysia and observed annually on 31 August.

The effort for independence was spearheaded by Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, who led a delegation of ministers and political leaders of Malaya in negotiations with the British in London for Merdeka, or independence along with the first president of the Malayan Chinese Association (MCA) Tun Dato Sir Tan Cheng Lock and fifth President of Malaysian Indian Congress Tun V. T. Sambanthan. Once it became clear that the Communist threat posed during the Malayan Emergency was petering out, agreement was reached on 8 February 1956, for Malaya to gain independence from the British Empire. However, logistical and administrative reasons led to the official proclamation of independence in the next year, on 31 August 1957, at Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), in Kuala Lumpur, which was purposely built for the celebrations of national Independence Day. The announcement of the day was set months earlier by the Tunku in a Melaka meeting of the Alliance.

On the night of 30 August 1957, crowds gathered at the Merdeka Square (Padang) in Kuala Lumpur to witness the handover of power from the British. Prime Minister-designate Tunku Abdul Rahman arrived at 11:58 p.m. and joined members of the Alliance Party's youth divisions in observing two minutes of darkness. On the stroke of midnight, the lights were switched back on, and the Union Flag in the square was lowered. The new Flag of Malaya was raised as the national anthem Negaraku was played. This was followed by seven chants of "Merdeka" by the crowd. Tunku Abdul Rahman later gave a speech hailing the ceremony as the "greatest moment in the life of the Malayan people". Before giving the address to the crowd, he was given a necklace by representatives of the Alliance Party youth in honour of this great occasion in history, with a map of Malaya inscribed on it. The event ended at one in the morning the next day.

On the morning of 31 August 1957, the festivities moved to the newly completed Merdeka Stadium. More than 20,000 people witnessed the ceremony, which began at 9:30 a.m. Those in attendance included rulers of the Malay states, foreign dignitaries, members of the federal cabinet, and citizens. The Queen's representative, the Duke of Gloucester presented Tunku Abdul Rahman with the instrument of independence. Tunku then proceeded to read the Proclamation of Independence, which culminated in the chanting of "Merdeka!" seven times with the crowd joining in. The ceremony continued with the raising of the National Flag of Malaya accompanied by the national anthem being played by a military band and a 21-gun salute, followed by an azan call and a thanksgiving prayer in honour of this great occasion.

The day followed with the solemn installation of the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Rahman of Negeri Sembilan, at Jalan Ampang, and the first installation banquet in his honour in the evening followed by a beating retreat performance and a fireworks display. Sports events and other events marked the birth of the new nation.

Teachers Day  - What it means to me and how I celebrate it every year from primary school till now

Teachers day to me is a wake up call to all the students out there (anyone who is still learning) irrespective of the age. It is a subtle way for the learners to realize and humble themselves that whatever they are, it is because of a bigger hand above them. It is a day to remind the learners to have gratitude towards the gurus who have lent their hand in their success. Feelings of gratitude and humility will ensure that we are always grounded and believe that there is always someone higher than us, watching us, protecting us, guiding us and making us human.

There will always be ex-students visiting and coming back to their old school to see the teachers who has taught them and guide them. This shows how much we need teachers to guide us and walk through our path in our teenage life to change us to a better and successful person. Teenagers now thinks that having teachers is a useless thing and that they should not even exist. However, at some point in the future, we will thank them for their good deeds and what they have done to change us all.

Since primary school, it has not really change since then. We celebrate every May and it always ends with joyfulness. Ever since standard 1, I always go to school sit down look at the teachers playing sports and I find it very amusing. This is because we do not really look at the sporty side of the teachers especially when you see your discipline teacher having fun, smiling and laughing, it just does not sound right and it gives me the creeps. I celebrate Teachers Day this year in a way that is quite different than the past years. This is because I performed for the teachers this year. This is one of the way on how I paid respect to the teachers who taught me and guide me.

Teachers Day is a day where all of us should attend to school to celebrate. If we skip school, this is not the way on how we respect the teachers. They have worked hard for us. Why not do something for them to repay for what they have done to us?

What will teenagers be like in 100 years?

What will teenagers be like in 100 years? This is a question that I have thought before but it has not come into my mind. I think it is a topic where it can go everywhere and it can be anything. Us teenagers now are already having imaginations of endless possibilities and we can already shape shift the future to what we want starting from what we are having now.

Teenagers these days are pampered. We need servants and helpers to help us do our work. I think with the technology that they will have in the future, they will be much more pampered. Imagine with the technology now, we are already pampered and with the technology in the future, we do not even need to sit for exams. This is because teenagers might already have robots doing their homework. Besides that, house chores can be done with an artificial human. Maybe it can be done within seconds productively. Teenagers do not even need a pen and a paper to write because maybe there will be a machine that can scan what we are thinking and typing it put as we think what we want to write or say then printing it out.

Moreover, do teenagers even need to go to school? I think that the students in 100 years has the capability to use at least 70-80% capacity of their brains with a help of a machine. There will also be much more things that will be discovered and more accurate things to what we are learning now. Therefore, I think that teenagers now will be smarter than a present day adult.

I think teenagers can also communicate and socialize conveniently. With the current social media like facebook and skype is already considered as really convenient. I have a feeling that there will be an app that helps us too feel and touch a person who you are communicating but in different places. Like I said, the possibilities are endless. I really hope that with all this technologies, the teenagers in the future will be even more sociable instead of using their smart phones and computers.

These expectations of mine may come true and it may not. Our world is evolving day by day. Anything can happen in our future. We only do not know whether the effects will be good or bad.

My First ULBS for English

I did my English ULBS on the 18^th April 2018. This ULBS contributes marks to our SPM English exam. I really dislike presenting in front of a crowd of people. However, anything related about contributing marks to or SPM exam is CRUCIAL. Therefore, I went out looking as brave as a lion and did my best. After this my presentation is done, I felt relieved as if I just finished releasing my faeces after in a state of emergency. So here is the whole process of it.

Our English teacher, Puan Monica asked whoever just finish presenting to pick a number for the next person to go up and present. My number was 16 and I was one of the few who has not presented yet. My heart was beating as fast as lighting. I was hoping that my friend would not pick me but he did.

I went up and just staring at the class made me sweat profusely. It felt like you are watching the TV to see who is the future ruler of Malaysia. The whole class took a glance at me and they went back doing their work as if they thought that my story wasn’t interesting. As I was presenting, it did not feel that bad. It went pretty smoothly. I guess it was because everyone was as busy as a bee doing their work.

After the presentation was done, the class had to ask me questions about the storybook. By answering them, I get to have extra marks and if they ask, they get extra marks. After I was done answering the questions, my teacher called me to sign to show that I am done. My anxiousness came back and as I was walking towards her I was really nervous because my marks is written on the paper. As I looked at it, it was 25 and I was relieved again. It is a pretty high mark.

The presentation was not perfect or great to me but I know I did my best. I guess I could have done better but it is good enough. I hope that the presentations that I do next time would be better but I believe the next time I do it, I would not care unless it is for MARKS.

FREE TOPIC- BIOGRAPHY OF BILL GATES

William Henry Gates was born on 28 October 1955, in Seattle, Washington. As the principal founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates is one of the most influential and richest people on the planet. Recent estimates of his wealth put it at US$84.2 billion (Jan. 2017); this is the equivalent of the combined GDP of several African economies. In recent years he has retired from working full time at Microsoft, and has instead concentrated on working with his charitable foundation “The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.”

His father William Gates Sr was a senior lawyer, and his mother, Mary, served as an executive for a major bank. The family were wealthy but, remembering the challenges of the Great Depression, they encouraged their children to work hard and take nothing for granted.

Aged 13, Gates attended the private Lakeside school. It was here that Gates had his first introduction to computers. He taught himself to programme in Basic, making a simple ‘Tic-Tac-Toe’ game. Gates enjoyed the process of working with computers and arranged with a company Computer Center Corporation (CCC) to spend time on their computers – learning source code, such as Fortran, Machine Code and Lisp.

In 1973, Gates enrolled at Harvard, where he studied mathematics and computer science. However, Gates was more interested in pursuing his own coding, and when he saw an opportunity to found his own company, he dropped out of Harvard without finishing his course.

In 1990 Microsoft released its first version of Windows. This was a breakthrough in operating software as it replaced text interfaces with graphical interfaces. It soon became a best seller and was able to capture the majority of the operating system market share. In 1995 Windows 95 was released, setting new standards and features for operating systems. This version of Windows has been the backbone of all future releases from Windows 2000 to the latest XP and Vista.The big break for Microsoft came in 1980 when IBM approached them for a new BASIC operating system for its new computers. In the early 1980s, IBM was by far the leading PC manufacturer. However, increasingly, there developed many IBM PC clones; (PCs produced by other companies compatible with IBM’s). Microsoft worked hard to sell its operating system to these other companies. Thus Microsoft was able to gain the dominant position of software manufacture just as the personal computer market started to boom. Since its early dominance, other companies have struggled to displace Microsoft as the dominant provider of computer operating software. Programs like Microsoft Word and Excel have become the industry standard.Bill Gates founded Microsoft in 1976 when he formed a contract with MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems) to develop a basic operating system for their new microcomputers. In the early days, Bill Gates would review every line of code. He was also involved in several aspects of Microsoft’s business such as packing and sending off orders.

Throughout his time in office, Bill Gates has been keen to diversify the business of Microsoft. For example, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer became the dominant web browser, although this was primarily because it came pre-installed on most new computers. In recent years, Internet Explorer has seen its market share slip.

One area where Microsoft has never been successful is in the area of search engines. MSN live search has struggled to gain more than 5% of market share. In this respect, Microsoft has been dwarfed by Google. Nevertheless, the success of Microsoft in cornering various aspects of the software market has led to several anti-trust cases. In 1998 US v Microsoft, Microsoft came close to being broken up into three smaller firms. However, on appeal, Microsoft was able to survive as a single firm. Although Microsoft was the dominant computer firm of the 1980s, and 1990s, they are now seen as an ageing and declining company – compared to the more dynamic Google and Apple.

Bill Gates is married to Melinda French (married in 1992). They have three children Jennifer (1996), Rory (1999) and Phoebe (2002). With his wife, Bill Gates formed the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill Gates says much of the inspiration came from the example of David Rockefeller. Like Rockefeller, Gates has sought to focus on global issues ignored by the government; he also expressed an interest in improving the standards of public school education in the US. He has appeared with Oprah Winfrey to promote this objective. In respect to charitable, philanthropic activities Gates has also received encouragement from investor Warren Buffet, who has given away $17 billion, through the Gates Foundation.

From 2008 Gates has worked full time on his philanthropic interests. It is estimated Gates and his wife Melinda have given away 28 billion via their charitable foundation – including $8 billion to improve global health.

Kem Membaca

 Kem Membaca lasted for 3 days from 3^rd of April to 5^th of April. The first day of kem membaca we had to do word search. I cheated because I started it earlier as I was walking towards the computer lab. Everyone was staring at me but I continued and didn’t care about them. As I took a seat, my class monitor complained to the teacher and she came to me, looked at my paper and she walked away. I wasn’t nervous at all as she came to my table because she isn’t the kind of teacher who scolds, to be specific she is the kind of teacher who tries to make people stop doing things but it fails at the end. After that, she explained the rules and regulations and as she says start everyone looked their paper concentrating on the words that they want to find. By that time, I have already found about 7 to 8 words. It was very challenging and I have discovered many new words that I have never seen in my life. In the end, I only had 16 words. My class monitor won in the end and I was shocked because it couldn’t be possible as I started early. In the end, I had to just accept it.

On the second day, we had a round of hangman. It was during maths period. We were split into half and a piece of paper was given to both the groups. The paper has general knowledge questions that even I didn’t know. There were also answers on it. So, what we were supposed to do is to ask questions to the other groups and they will ask us back too. It was a fierce round. Most of us didn’t know most of the questions so we just gave them an answer that is weird. In the end, our group won by only 2 points. We scored 25 and the other team scored 23.

The third day was a little more fun. We had to go to classes talking about our book that has impacted our lives. We had to go in pairs and I was paired up with Ashikin, a friend of mine. We went to 2 Angsana and the students there were nice. Ashikin went first and her story was kind of interesting. Most of the students asked her questions where as I was just standing there waiting for her urn to finish. Next, it was my turn, I presented a book called The Road. The students listened attentively on what I was saying. In the end, they asked many questions and some of them were kind of ridiculous but funny. The class we went next was 2 Belian. They were extremely hyper. They were barely listening to what I was saying. They were doing their own things. In the end, it was a fun activity and I really enjoyed it.

What I learned about how my efforts will contribute to my exam marks

I have learned that paying attention in class and concentrate is the best thing I can do tI'd raise my test scores. Letting my mind to wander or not showing up at all are both likely to make you miss out on key information that will later appear in the tests.

Besides that, taking good notes is also important if I want to have an easier time studying later. Not only will writing the information down as me learn it helps me in absorbing the information and paying attention, but I'lll have a reference when I go to study later.

Apart from that, homework, such as assignments and at-home reading are where I will find the rest of the information that will be on tests, so doing this homework is important. Schedule time and set aside a quiet place just for homework to help beat the procrastination blues.

Ask teacher or go online and print a few practice tests. Taking a practice test has helped me to figure out how much information I actually know vs how much information I  think you know. Knowing my weak spots before a test is crucial!

ROAD RUN 2018  

On that day, the bell rang later, at 7.40 a.m. Dressed in our respective colorful house T-shirts -- yellow, green, blue and red, we assembled at the basketball court and lined up according to our houses Kesatria, Hebat, Berjaya and Maju. The Sports Secretary, Puan Mariam, then briefed us on the dos and don'ts during the cross country run. After that, we walked in single file to the school gate. Encik Ghanapathi, our school principal then made his way to the front of the line. Preet !! And we were off. The first group of students to run were the class kesatria, hebat, berjaya members, the first, second and third formers. Then it was the turn of maju members the fourth formers. We ran from the school, cut across a hill where there was a stream and passed a housing estate with nice bungalows. The route was scenic but the actual running was a real killer. Most of us forced our legs to run fast, overtaking some slow students, ignoring their jeers and cheers. Having played the fool during the practice sessions, most of us felt our hearts pounding like a thousand drums. A group of girls overtook me. Despite the muscle ache, I increased my stride and managed to match their paces. We followed a hilly road which led us past a stream. The bank of the stream was lined with shady trees. I was sorely tempted to stop to take a rest but decided against it. I gritted my teeth and pushed myself forward, wanting to win maximum points for Kesatria. A group of us soon reached the second checkpoint where a teacher was waiting with bottled water. We slowed down, grabbed a bottle of water from her outstretched hands and rushed off. I soon lagged behind as I was starting to tire. We continued running and found ourselves pounding along a rather nice-looking path with trees on both sides. Suddenly, a sharp pain spread from my calves to the rest of my legs but I did not stop running. The soles of my shoes were as hot as fire as I pounded the pavement to catch up with the other girls ahead of me. Try as I could, I just could not catch up with them. I managed to reach the finishing line later, scoring only five points instead of seven. Those who came way after me got five points each for their houses. It was close to 9.30 a.m. and most of the students had returned to school. Luckily, there were no casualties as those who could not run took their own sweet time to walk back to school. Most of us rushed to the water cooler to quench our thirst. When the bell rang for break, we headed to the canteen to get our favorite drinks and food. The results of the cross country run were announced the next day. My house, Kesatria was the champion House. Elizabeth was the champion for girls while Daniel, a willowy boy, was the champion for boys.

Chinese New Year

 Chinese New year also known as the spring festival in modern China, and one of the Lunar New Years in Asia, is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calender. Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month. The first day of the New Year falls on the new moon between the 21st of January and 20th of February. This year the first day of the Lunar New Year was on Friday, 16 February, initiating the year of the dog.

 The New Year festival is centuries old and associated with several myths and customs. Traditionally, the festival was a time to honour deities as well as ancestors. Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Lunar New Year vary widely. Often, the evening preceding Lunar New Year's Day is an occasion for Chinese families to gather for the annual reunion dinner. It is also traditional for every family to thoroughly clean the house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for incoming good luck. Windows and doors are decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of good fortune, wealth, and longevity. Other activities include lighting firecrackers and giving money in red paper envelopes.

During Chinese New Year, kids and teenagers receives red paper envelopes called angpau from adults when visiting. Angpau is a monetary gift which is given to the kids or teenagers and only married couples are allowed to give. There will be money stuffed inside the angpau money when is given. The red color of the envelope symbolizes good luck and is a symbol to ward off evil spirits. The act of requesting red packets is normally called tao hongbao.

During Chinese New Year, mandarin oranges, tangerine, satsumas are considered traditional symbols of abundance and good fortune. During the two-week celebration, they are frequently displayed as decoration and presented as gifts to friends, relatives, and business associates.

To be honest, I'll group literally did an impromptu acting. We did not plan this before hand and I think we did quite well. We only started discussing about it during the first day when we had to act. During the process of preparing the act, I felt that we could have done better and I learned that we have to do things early and before hand
and do not procrastinate. My friends and I understands the story well. Since that we planned the sketch last minute, I felt that we did quite well. We can make it better by adding props.

This whole story takes place in Africa where Aloo is acted by Xin Yi and the mother who is acted by Ashikin when the had to move to a new place. Aloo wants to study overseas but his mother does not allow but in the end Aloo's mum finally realized that it is good for his education and therefore she allows him to study overseas. The main characters of this story is Aloo and Mother. One thing that I learns from this story is to love our parents because they took care of us.

WHAT IS LIFE TO ME???

Life is beautiful and yet life is not a bed of roses. Though it is full of ups and downs it has many aspects of blessings and successes.

To some people, life is hard, cruel and merciless. These set of people see life as punishment throughout their entire lives. They therefore resigned themselves to fate, believing all is finished. To them, nothing that they do can ever be good. They take delight in committing crimes and maiming others to avenge their ill-fortune. They lost every sense of direction and most times, some of them go as far as committing suicide, just to escape the injustice life has meted out to them.

But there are those who see life as a challenge, a channel of discovery and innovation, a prospect for success and a gateway to wealth. To them life is sweet, colourful and kind. No matter the situation these people find themselves, they keep pressing on, believing in a cause, a cause to succeed and get the most out of life. No wonder an adage says, “Where there is life, there is hope.”

The will to succeed or fail lies within an individual jurisdiction. You can live life to the fullest with utmost satisfaction and fulfillment if you determine with all your mind, body and soul to succeed. On the other hand, life can be miserable to you if you take everything for granted and wait on fate to play itself out.

Setting of goals and strategic plans that will strive no matter the odds which may move against you is one of the basic things needed to get the best out of life. These goals which must be result oriented, should be followed up consistently even if things seem blurred or unyielding at first.

Also, the mind is the centre of everything. It controls your thoughts and beliefs. A focused mind has never fail. A positive mind helps one to discover his talents and potentials. Great men and women, both living and dead, had their minds focused on something and nothing deterred them from achieving their dreams. Each of them had a belief, should I say faith, which they held onto, they nurture the belief, focused all their attention and live on it. And today, we have benefited in one way or the other from their inventions and great ideas.

Life is a challenge. And for anyone to succeed in life, he must be ready to show the stuff he is made of. He must be ready to sacrifice his time and build up his mind frame toward success. What is happening in our environment should not influence or affect us in our daily quest for success in life. Instead, we should control the happenings around us.

Life is so easy, yet many people rush and miss what they want to achieve in life. Don’t rush in life. Take one step at a time. Each step should be properly planned before being launched. Steady, balance, mark and shoot. And before you know it, the sky will become the beginning of your success.

All the great men of today, has one way or the other tasted the other side of life but they did not cower. Instead, they were renewed to redefine their goals; they ride on with faith, believing in their potentials, focusing their mind on something, knowing fully well that in every black cloud there is always a silver lining.

I take life to be very simple and do you know what? Life is to be enjoyed.

The Power of Information

      Information is power which we can say that it is almost everything because it has ability to make a physically weak person a most strong person of the world. It gives everything in the life like money, power, name, fame, success and position. Information gives a person ability to understand, analyze, make better decisions and evolve most intelligent thoughts. It gives us the feeling of well being and helps to improve the lives of us and people in our surroundings.

      A person who gains information in the society becomes more valuable and respected. A person that has information gets more fame very easily and people want to work with him. Information is the way to more doors and opportunities in the life. Information provides actual freedom in the life and opens all the doors of success. Information provides power to speak through our mind which really helps people to understand who you truly are.

      Information is very important tool to get positive changes in the society and country. Information helps us to absorb things from the genius people which have potential to improve the quality of life. Information is the only precious thing which nobody can take away from us, it remains with us forever and increases if we distribute it among the needy people. It gives new and revolutionary ideas which help to alter the way of viewing the world. So, we can say that information is pillar to the success and happiness.

First week of school

          The first thing that came into my mind is that my class was even higher than my old class. I felt like my leg was braking and it was very tiring. Moreover, I was also carrying my school bag which contains many textbooks and exercise books. I kept telling myself, “why can’t my class be on the lowest floor?” Ever since form 1 until now, I had to always climb up the stairs.

         

            When I was in my new class, basically everything changes. The students in there, the seating position, everything. I did not feel comfortable with the class I am in because I am used to my old class. I decided to sit in a place where there is no one beside me to not feel awkward.

            

              I felt better the next day. The environment feels more relaxed. I thought that the first week of school will not be as pressuring because there will be less homework and all I have to do is to listen to teacher and mix with new friends. However, it is the total opposite. The teachers gave tons of homework and when I am at home there is no difference than school.

             My physics teacher, Puan Winnie was the best teacher from what I see so far. She makes her class very fun and she has a great sense of humour. She separates us into groups of 5 and we did an introduction to physics class by playing some icebreakers. It was a great way to kick off a physics class.

             I was able to know more about my classmates even more as I talk to them. They were funny and some were also very hardworking on their work. I did not dare to even start a conversation with anyone of them during the first day of school but as I talked to them I got to know them better/

             Apart from being in class, at least I got to hang out with my old friends in the canteen. Everyone was very happy to see each other. We were all sharing about our holiday and I was sitting down, eating and just listening to them sharing. When they asked me what I did during my holidays, all I said was, “nothing special”.
